Improvements on Diving Bell allow more efficiency
Since Roman times humans have been venturing to the bottom of the ocean to seek
treasure and work, and since then they have been using diving bells to do it. For those who don’t know, a diving bell is a giant hollow structure, usually made of metal, in the shape of a bell. When it is lowered into the water, it retains the air the was inside of it on the surface, allowing divers to breathe while underwater. When it is time to leave the bell, the occupant carries a tube connected to the bell, allowing them air to breathe. |
![]() Occupants have weights attached to their bodies which help to prevent the bell from tipping over underwater and trapping divers.
However, reports and first had accounts of many people who went down into the deep dark depths of the sea, never to be seen or heard from again, have certainly surfaced (no pun intended). |
Study of Weather Advances due to Technological Advances
A few days ago in the year 1686 we discovered what is to be the first known weather map. This weather map was created by Edmund Halley. This map would be the kind in which meteorologist may use in the future to predict the weather. Halley’s weather map allows him and weather specialist to calculate salt percentages that were found in rivers which would lead to the seawater over many years. This led to the prediction the Earth’s age.

Eyes to the sky with new telescope
Prior to the reinvention of the telescope by Galileo Galilei, the night sky was speckled by thousands of stars. Galileo wasn't satisfied, however, and thought there was more to the world above. So with a lot of hard-work, Galilei developed a telescope that allowed the viewer to see double the stars in the night sky.
In order to do this, Galilei consulted with Marc'Antonio Mazzoleni, a well known artisan, so that he may design a telescope with magnificent magnification. |
Newton defines Gravity
Take the nearest object around you and drop it. Did you do it? Good. Now where did it go? Down, naturally. Now take the nearest object and toss it. Okay, now where did it go? In the direction you tossed and then down, right? Most of us take that exercise for granted but not Isaac Newton- he experimented with that everyday phenomena and as called it gravity.
Ever wonder where The Falling Apple gets its unique name? Well, hang on to your hat because this is the story: It is told that one day Isaac Newton, a superb mathematician, was sitting underneath an apple tree when he experienced an apple falling from a high up limb. ‘What’s for Dinner?’: A report on our World’s Food Production
Around the world, processes of food production are steadily increasing their productivity. However, the rising populations of many countries have created a harsh reality for many: a shortage of food which has caused many to go hungry, or struggle to find food. Most of our society remains dependent on growing their own crops, and many, while it is greatly looked down upon, still hold serfs, their continual service passed down from generation to generation, creating a vicious cycle which many will never live to get out of. However, since Medieval times, the number of serfs has greatly decreased and many have been able to move into more urban city environments.
