The moldboard plow, which was though to have been first introduced around the 12th century, was an essential and helpful part of any farmer’s tool collection. It was different from earlier plows in that it harnessed the

full potential of the animals who were used to pull the plow, and it provided a much deeper till. This allowed for looser, more fertile soil, and less work for the people working the fields. In the 17th century, the moldboard plow was again elevated to a more productive level with the integration of metal, enabling it to be much stronger than ever before.
