Food production in the 21st century
Food production has drastically changed from the sixteen hundreds to the twentieth century. In the sixteenth century, people would have to grow their own food on a farm. They would have to slaughter the animals to make food. Domestication of cattle was common because they provided the people with milk and meat.

Back in the sixteenth century, on average a farmer would only feed about twenty-six people, unlike today where a farmer can feed up too one hundred fifty people. Today, our nutrient intake is not as high as it used to be back in earlier centuries. We also consume three hundred calories more than we consumed in the earlier years. Another way that food production has changed is that the FDA has approved a food pyramid which tells you the amount of food such as grains, vegetables, meat, etc. you should intake. Due to the way food is being processed today it has caused a worldwide epidemic of obesity among adults and children.
